District Development #4- This covers the week from November 13 - November 30, 2017. It provides a recap of the major events happening in each district that we feel the members need to be aware of/kept up to date. This article covers Baton Rouge, the Southwest District (Lafayette & Lake Charles), New Orleans, and the Northwest Region. Northwest: Our LAGC Chapter leadership will be meeting on December 18th with Shreveport AGC to further the discussions of the potential merger of the two chapters. Everything looks very positive and we are very excited to bring on the potential new addition. We will keep our members informed as we get closer to any finalization. For more information please contact Michael Demouy at michaeld@lagc.org BATON ROUGE: The Baton Rouge District recently hosted the Louisiana AGC Safety Committee and discussed current/upcoming OSHA regulations. Specifically, the Safety Committee has yet to see OSHA enforce the new Silica Policy but would welcome any feedback from member companies. The Committee also looked forward to 2018 and discussed ways to make the Safety Committee stronger. As an AGC member you can expect to see a greater presence from the Safety Committee in 2018. The Louisiana AGC headquarters is still on track to begin renovations in January of 2018. The mandatory pre-bid meeting was recently held and the AGC Staff is looking forward to updating our office space in 2018. Please be on the lookout for a temporary address for our Baton Rouge office as we move out during renovations. On Tuesday, December 5th the Louisiana AGC Board of Directors will be meeting at the AGC office in Baton Rouge. This meeting will be centered around beginning to implement some of the changes that were suggested in our Long Range Planning committee. For additional information please contact Michael Demouy at michaeld@lagc.org LAFAYETTE: The final numbers are in and the Lafayette Charity Clay Shoot looks to be LAGC’s biggest charitable function in the state this year. This success is due completely to the tireless efforts our clay shoot committee and the generosity and big hearts of the people of Acadiana and the contracting community. I will be getting out to see as many of you as I can before years end to thank you for all you do. If I happen to miss you, have a Blessed and Happy Holiday Season.
