It's Time for a District Meeting!

And this district meeting will be like nothing that we've had before. For years the Calcasieu Parish School Board has been building a first-rate Career/Technical Training Site. For the last couple of years LAGC has been helping with this program in the form of donations and the program is thriving. This meeting will be held at the training facility and the culinary students will be preparing our lunch. There will be no speaker this time. During lunch the AGC staff will give y'all a quick update on what is going on statewide and then we will get a quick tour of the carpentry/electrical/welding shops to give y'all a good idea of where some of your future employees may be coming from. We are, as is the school board, very excited about showing off this program. It is impressive to say the least and you don't want to miss this. Calling All Safety Gurus,

LAGC is hosting a meeting of the Safety Committee on Thursday, April 9th at 10:30. Ryan Brooks, of Gulf Management, will speak briefly about highway safety (he also has some very serious video that he can share on this topic). We're hoping to have Milwaukee Tool provide us a look at the latest and greatest in safety wear and to possibly hear from OSHA. Time permitting we can engage in an open forum to discuss topics that are front and center in your daily activities. After the meeting LAGC will take the group to lunch at a destination to be decided by the group. I look forward to seeing you all there.

In January of 2026, the City of New Orleans installed a new City Council and Mayor. LAGC has endured, supported, and partnered with every municipal administration in New Orleans since our birth in 1948, but this group specifically since 2014. The Mayor Moreno administration is a fresh start, and we as an association stand ready to continue our legacy of refining the industry in the New Orleans and Greater New Orleans areas. This meeting will serve as the first under this administration to levelset our collective experiences, needs, and expectations, forecast the road ahead, and respond to the asks of the City in a way that communicates true partnership.

Please join us for lunch as we hear from the City and its departments about all the ways your business will be affected in the next 4 years. The topics of discussion will include the following:

Funding (current and expected funds for projects)
Department of Public Works (leadership; projects; initiatives)
Sewerage and Water Board (leadership; funding; projects)
Capital Projects Administration (leadership; projects)
Mayor's Street Paving Crew
New Orleans International Airport
Introduction to heads of Departments (Procurment, Finance, Supplier Diversity)
